Yesteryear Collection

In the years following John S. Pemberton's 1886 patented formula for COCA-COLA, the drink was primarily a fountain drink. Soda fountains mixed the COCA-COLA syrup with carbonated water to make the sweet, refreshing concoction. In 1891, Asa G. Candler bought the COCA-COLA name and formula, and his aggressive marketing style would ensure that the COCA-COLA name was recognized wherever people stopped for refreshment.

In 1911, while COCA-COLA was distributing its product across the country, the General Motors Truck Co. was founded when W.C. Durant purchased and combined a variety of truck builders. However, it wasn't until the following year that the first GMC truck was produced. Five years later, GMC touted its reputation for reliability and durability when a GMC truck was driven successfully from Seattle to New York and back to Seattle. The trip proved the "toughness" of GMC trucks.

Now, a 1937 GMC Delivery Truck is making sure that a cargo of COCA-COLA gets to its destination. Your COCA-COLA 1937 GMC Delivery Truck is precision-engineered, meticulously crafted and detailed with authentic COCA-COLA graphics, including a trademark commemorating the 50th anniversary of COCA-COLA.

From the two-tone paint scheme to the bright COCA-COLA trademark on the back and sides, this vintage model captures an exciting moment in the history of both COCA-COLA and GMC trucks. This Matchbox Exclusives edition is produced by - and available only from - Matchbox Collectibles.
